The Alberta Cowboy Poetry Association, comprised of poets, musicians and storytellers that embrace western values and the cowboy and ranching way of life. Its members seek to perpetuate the oral tradition and celebrate the western lifestyle by performing historical and/or contemporary material. ACPA members perform at both public gatherings and private functions.
1. Performance material should respect the audience and be appropriate for people of all genders, ages, ethnic backgrounds and cultures. Songs, poems and stories should have a relationship to rural, family values, western, cowboy, farming and ranching themes. 2. Because functions and audiences vary, members are encouraged to check with their host/employer if they are ever in doubt about the adult content of their material. 3. Gratuitous swearing, denigrating remarks and deliberately rude material are never appropriate. 4. As a courtesy to other performers, the emcee and the program organizers, ACPA members are expected to be reliable and professional when it comes to using only their fair share of the allotted time. We want to hear from the people who make Cowboy Poetry, Western Music and Storytelling the popular venue it is. Click here for information on becoming a member and sign our Guestbook.
