I am a retired farm woman, a great grandmother, and have been widowed for a number of years. I live in west central Alberta, and have been in this district all my life. My parents operated a lumber mill, so that was my first experience at work. We raised horses and goats, our main transportation in my childhood was riding saddle horse.
I married a farmer and we did most farm experiences, like milking cows, feeding pigs, and chickens. We raised mostly beef cattle in later years, and built up a herd of purebred Charolais, we also raised a few quarter horses.

I still live on the farm, which I rent to the neighbours, and raise miniature horses for a hobby.
I started writing about fifteen years ago, mainly non-fiction, which is still my favourite genre. I began attending poetry gatherings, with a friend about eight years ago. I enjoy the music and stories, as I have a passion for classic country music, and especially like blue grass. So I was encouraged by friends to start writing poetry, although I claimed that I was not a poet. With the prompting of the late Glen Rafuse I tried my hand at the poetry.
I started reciting my poems at the shows in 2007, and have now self published a book containing thirty-one of them. I have met so many great friends at the gatherings and appreciate each one of them.
