Fall Gather at Delburn, September 10th & 11th, 2011
Review by: Vivia Oilver

Beautiful warm weather ushered in the Fall Gather at Delburn this year. Friday afternoon saw a good turn out at the Seniors Drop In for music and visiting. Friday evening commenced with a Small Town Smack Down, the annual professional bull riding in the arena, with a good crowd in attendance for the supper and riding. This may not be part of the Gather but falls the evening before so can be included in a good weekend of events.

Saturday was supposed to start out with a pancake breakfast at the Hall, but last minute cancellation knocked that event out. Then the quilt show and artisan display took place in the School Gym. Many beautiful quilts were on display for Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday afternoon, there was ranch roping at the Arena, with only a few spectators in attendance. The ropers put on a good display of their roping style.

Saturday evening the poetry and music show went on in the Hall, with singers Fred and Shirley Doberstein, Alison Demeter and poets Buddy Gale, Harold Webber and Robbie Robertson.

Sunday morning Cowboy Church finished up the weekend in grand style with a good crowd in the Catholic Church, with music by Rob & Linda Purdy and Steve & June Potter. Don Wadel gave a great message.
