Seven members of the ACPA entertained an enthusiastic crowd of about 140 people at this event, which preceded the Ponoka Stampede. The poets and musicians were: Hazel Rust, Vic Stuckey, Mag Mawhinney, Buddy Gale, Al Owchar, Hugh Kelly and Emma Lee Rust (Bj Smith, scheduled to perform, was absent). Joan Parkins, who did a wonderful job as MC, asked Mag Mawhinney to talk about the ACPA for Pres. Brian Bj Smith, who was delayed on a packing trip. Starting at 1:30 in the afternoon, each performer had two sets, followed by a delicious steak dinner in the main dining room of the Legion. Another ACPA member, Jessica St. Dennis, provided some great songs for our listening pleasure during the dinner hour.

Proceeds of $l,l50 each went to STARS and the Ponoka Wheelchair Society. A big thanks go out to Reg Rust and members of the Legion for organizing this event. Because of the great response, they hope to have this take place again next year.
