Taste Of The West at the Sundre Museum
August 1 2009

Flap jacks and bacon and eggs were great. Lots of folks dropped in to enjoy.

The weather was really what all cowboys ever want, not too hot and not too cool, just right for hard work and we did just the right amount of work.

For the big crowd of about forty people, the people from the ACPA are to be proud. Those that were on the program and those that drifted in. Perry Jacobson supplied his sound equipment and took care of that.

Al Owchar came from his family party up at Rocky Mountain House and won every one with his historic songs and great guitar picking.

Gerald Miller, a local rancher had some great stories and poems, got to get him on the membership list.

Chelsea Cunningham had rodeo livestock problems on the road into Sundre and showed up a bit late and still wooed the folks. What a soft and pleasing voice that is very easy on the ears!

Buddy Edgar did some fancy rope work and fancy stepping and entertained the folks. It was good to see a specialty act at our show, it went over very well.

Dave Dance proved to be an able emcee for the day and filled any open spots with the drifters coming on stage.

Drifters that showed up were Wendy Vaughan, Tex Florence, Vivia Oliver, Mag Mawhinney, who just happened to be camping in the area and one new member being Ken Hunley.

I guess the ranch rodeo being on at the same time took a lot of people that would have come on over. A very special thanks to the western art painters that took the time to bring in their art work for the folks to view and purchase if they wanted. All in all it was a good day, we did not make a lot of money, but had an enjoyable day. Thanks to all who had a part.

Harold Webber, for the ACPA and the Sundre Pioneer Museum and the Chester Mjolsness World of Wild Life Center.
